Parametric Revit Family for Underground Conduit Transitions

As our models continue to increase in detail, we’re reaching a point where having a complete Bill of Materials (BOM) for underground conduit systems—including all necessary fittings and adapters—is becoming essential.

Currently, modeling conduit transitions (e.g., from PVC to RMC to EMT) can be time-consuming and cumbersome. To streamline this process, I propose the development of a parametric Revit conduit fitting family that allows users to:

Select the type of conduit needed for stub-ups from underground.
Toggle between different conduit types, couplings, and adapters.
Automatically generate the appropriate fittings based on selected configurations.
Adjust the length of straight conduit segments parametrically.
This would make it as simple as placing a single family and checking a few boxes to configure the transition. The result would be a more efficient modeling workflow and a more accurate BOM.
